Shed? PT Attachment? Both!

I have been wanting a shed, basically a roof, to keep rain off of my thirty gallon gas tank. Recently after hurricane Irene, I could not run my generator until the rain stopped. I wanted to build a generator shed near the house, but the wife has a limit of two outbuildings on the property, and I have three. She does not mind if they are down in the woods. After much thought I consider making a very small shed to cover the generator. This would be something I could move easily. I realized that the Power Trac could move it. So I made a shed that has a boom pole going through it. I can connect the boom pole through the two inch receiver quick attach plate. Now I store the gas tank in it most of the time and move it to near the house right after a storm, if needed.

I never thought to hook up a building to my PT. :laughing:

Say, if you reinforce the bottom edge of your shed, you could us it to back blade your drive way and smooth it out. Make it a multi tasker.

I was thinking about putting one on the trash can if we can ever afford to move to our rural property. The driveway will be 400' +-. Then I found out the QA male on the tractor fits under the rim nicely, so it isn't needed. :laughing:

Been thinking about building a fuels / combustible storage shed out of adobe. I figure the 12" wall would help moderate hot / cold temps and with the masonry building it would be fire proof as well.
This would keep propane, gasoline, paint & chemicals out of the garage / house and make these spaces safer.
Still trying to fit the shed onto the property within the setbacks, close enough to be handy; far enough away to be safe. This will require at least 8 more beers - and no, I'm not staggering around the place, I'm taking measurements.

I saw a tv show about building w/adobe a while back. I was surprised they didn't use any straw just a mix of clay, sand and some cement and water that they put into large brick shaped forms. After what seemed like a pretty long curing time, they used the same mix as mortar. I think the company was called Adobe Building Consultants.

I thought about building a low retaining wall w/adobe but haven't got to that project yet.

Can you use adobe in areas of high rainfall? Wet and freeing sounds like it would be even worse. West Cascades of Washington State sounds wet.

No, it is not hurricane rated, and that concerns me. My rational (weak as it is) is that I live in a valley and the shed is in a thickly wooded area. This should help shield it from wind. Also I do have some pieces of rebar bent to L shape nailed in the ground to help hold it down. Right now they are too short and I can pull them out too easily. My plan is also to run a rope over the roof and tie it down to trees during a storm.
