Replaced head gasket, unclogged the injection pump, adjusted the timing and it's up and running. Surprised how much power this thing has. Just got to solve the running hot issue... Anyone know what the thermostat should open up at I'm thinking it should open around 180 or 190. Forgot to add replaced radiator cap with 10# cap. Didn't know how many # the original was.

Hello Shenniu SN25. Was it over heating, or runing hot befour you replaced the head gasket??? I can't count the number of times, I've had to redo a head gasket that some one put in upside down. When this happens, the holes in the head and the gasket don't line up. This can cause oil and coolent leaks, and or runing hot, too overheating. Did you flush the rad, it might be pluged. Did you look in the rad filler neck, to see if you have a good water flow in the rad?? It should look like you have a garden hose running in there. Belt tight, water pump good?? The rad cap only changes the boiling tempiture of your coolent, one degree per four PSI. [or something like that]. The # of the cap is so you don't split your rad, from over pressure.

I realize that this thread is several months old, but where did you get your radiator cap? Mine has a craked gasket and leaks coolant as it heats up to the point where it overheats. My regular parts supply ( Jims Farm Equipment ) doesn't have any and says parts are drying up.

Thanks
Greg
