Shifting Issues

Is it me or does the NX 4510 HST have a shifting issue? I have a very hard time getting it into gear, whether it is H, M, or L. I was told by the dealer that if it happens just step on one of the pedals lightly and it should go in. Wrong, no matter how lightly I step, it does not go in or it grinds before it goes in. I have had it kick itself out of gear while I was transitioning from forward to reveres. My neighbor has a Kioti but not the same model and he has to do the same thing, but he does not have half the issues like I do. The tractor has only 20 hours on it, so is it me, not use to it, or could it be something else? Love the tractor compared to the last 2 I owned, Massey MF 35 and a Ford 3600. Thanks for any help.

It'll break in, but 4 out of 4 HST tractors I've owned (3 brands) had it to some degree

My DK35se is "slicker than snot" now, but when it was new I had to sometimes press one or the other pedals to make it go into gear.. Just don't "force" it. If id doesn't go, be sure to move the tractor a tiny amount by letting your foot off the brake, touching one or the other of the pedals and letting off, or even wiggling the steering wheel, anything to make the gear train line up.

As the tractor wears in the problem gets to be less and less. The gear portion of the transmission is a "crash box" with no synchronizers at all, just cut gears. I have about 270 hours on mine now, and it is rare for me to have a problem with range shifting.

Thank you. My neighbor has a Kioti and at first he had the same issue but now it is better. I guess I need patients. Thank you all again.

I have a CK2510 HST, coming up on 50 hrs. It too is difficult shifting between L and H. It also started popping out of H on me. I have found that manipulating the 4wd select lever while shifting between H and L solves the issue...almost like there's a bind between levers. In other words, if im in 4wd and in L range and try to shift into H it doesn't want to go, if I put into 2wd first, then pull the sector back to high it slides in no problem. My dealer said the same thing, there tight from the factory and need time to break in...well see

I'm not Kioti but at first it was a real BEAR changing range. When it refused to go - I'd put it back into the "previous" range - move the tractor a little distance - try again - and it would go. I've got 225 hours now and range change problems are a thing of the past.

The popping out of range disturbs me.. I have never had my Kioti pop out of gear.

I have had trouble with a CK25 popping out of gear. Make sure it is in 2wd before you try to change ranges. I have had them bind up in 4wd and won't shift.
