Tractor
Branson 3510
Hello to all...just stumbled upon this forum while searching for information on my new tractor....great place to gather info... I just took delivery on my 3510 yesterday, with fel and 6 ft. finish mower. I looked at all the makes and models, and just kept coming back to the Branson... couldn't find anything that compared for the money. I just love this tractor, but as luck would have it, 2 hrs. after delivery, I was mowing my 5 acre lot that used to be a horse pasture when I started to smell diesel fuel. Got to checking, and I had split the return fuel line after just 2 hrs of use... luckily, the dealer is just 2 miles down the road and I had it fixed in less than a half hr.... anyway, I couldn't resist logging on here and bragging about my new toy.... looking forward to many good yrs. with her.... Brian

Congrats on the 3510! Just did my 4 acre mowing last night with my 3510, fel, & 6-ft. finish mower (the mower's a Kioti). The tractor has 29 hrs on it, and it has really impressed me. Way more than I need, but I wanted 30+ hp for my pto generator.

So far besides mowing I've dug out an abandoned water line, filled 2 abandoned septic tanks, graded my gravel drive, and any other cleanup, hauling, pulling, loading chores I could think up. It's terrible to realize you're sitting there day-dreaming about seat time!

The only problem I've had so far is the pto crunching into gear. I adjusted the clutch free play down to about 3/4", and that took care of it. Anyone know if that is too little free play?

One other thing I tended to was the wiring to the free-standing warning signal lamps. The first time I mowed under several white pines, the branches swept right under the brackets and took out one of the wires. I formed up some sheet metal cover pans that basically fill in the entire bracket area and protect the wiring. Worked great yesterday. If you are interested let me know and I'll try to post some photos.

Good luck with your new toy. It's a great deal on a great tractor. Don't be embarrassed to wax it to keep it shiny (I did)!

Welcome Brian! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Since you're really new, I'll just mention that it would be very helpful if you took a few minutes and filled out your profile so that everyone here can know a bit more about you and where you're located. That kind of information can be very useful when responding to a question or concern that you may have.

To fill out your profile, simply click on My Home at the top of the page, then page down until you see Main Configuration . Under that heading, you'll see the word Edit to the right of Personal Preferences . Just click on Edit and then fill in the blanks.

You also will need to post some pictures or your new tractor as soon as you can. Everybody at TBN just love to see pictures of tractors! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

We look forward to your future contributions. Thanks for joining! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the warm welcome and the advise on editing my bio. Just got done with that, but don't have any pics to post yet. I've been too busy mowing and cleaning up the property to even take any pics. Hopefully this weekend. I've just become my father in-laws best friend since the tractor purchase. He's been a farmer his entire life, and raises and trains race horses, so he sees me not only as a son in-law, but as another tractor..lol... I have to go over and clean out his stalls with it this weekend. He just laughed at me when I told him I didn't know if I wanted poop in my scoop and called me a city farmer....lol Thanks again for the welcome. Hope you all have many happy hrs. in the seat.....Brian

Brian, good to hear another Hoosier has joined the kukje club. We need some pictures though.... have your wife take one of you on the tractor. Most of the times on those first pictures all we see are a set of teeth riding on a tractor. It's hard not to be smiling!

On this beautiful , sunny Indiana day.....I wish you many happy hours of tractoring.

Would you mind telling us what you paid? I am seriously looking at the Branson 3510 and am shopping and kicking tires. I have found ad price in Ga of $11,600. Locally ( NE Florida) I have found $12,395. tractor only. I am very close to pulling the trigger. I have 2 Fords, 1949 8N and 1963 2000 and I plan to unload them for something "shiney new". Since I am a Chevy Guy the upgrade will do me good. Tim

I will get the camera out this weekend and get some pics. I just got the barn all organized, and got an entire side just for the tractor and the goodies... even have room for more goodies...lol... Stimw, that sounds like a good price that you got quoted.. the prices on the new ones have gone up because of the price of steel was what I was told.... I gave 15,400 for mine with the fel, and he made me a good deal on the mower since I bought them all together. He showed me his dealer invoice, and he had 14,850 in it, so he didn't make a bunch of money off of me.... All I can say is that so far, it is worth every penny. My problem is, my wife wants seat time too, and I don't want to share...lol... never marry a farm girl... thanks guys.....Brian

Stimw, I paid $11,800 for my 3510 with R4s in February - the "last of the pre-steel-increase" stock. Add $3,200 for the BL10 FEL, and my $15,000 price (plus tax) makes your current pricing look pretty good, especially the GA price - but you need to consider dealer service as a factor. My dealer is only 15 miles away and he's throwing in a 50-hr. fluids change for free. Once you find the dealer & price you like, I encourage you to take the plunge. I traded up from a '61 Ford 601, and I can't tell you the increase in productivity, safety, and pleasure of use the Branson has provided, especially with the FEL.

I also added a set of quick-change forks ($595 + tax) that was a real plus. Needed to move 18 small white pines that we had just put into some land that we subsequently sold. The burlap balls were still intact, so I just jammed the forks under each tree and plucked them out like melon balls. Borrowed my neighbor's 24" auger for the pto and dropped the trees into place. 18 trees in one afternoon!

Good luck!

Thanks guys for the price info it lets me know I'm in line with my quotes.
Kongs, let the wife scoop the poop! I know how you feel, 15 years ago I lived in Jacksonville and bought an MTD riding tractor to cut my grass. My neighbor asked to use it the first day I had it, he brought it back with dog poop on the tires. I felt violated! And never let him use it again!
KYMike, by R 4 tires do you mean the industrial? I have decided I want the industrial tires as they will be easier on my grass than AG. Not tractor related, you list Louisville as home, is the club "Soundstage" still in downtown Louisville? I grew up in Cincinnati and was a parttime Rodie with a band and we were at Soundstage for New years eve 1976 ( Bicentienial). What a great time that was!!!At midnight the bar put 200 bottles of Champagne out and plastic cups. They used to stay open until 4 AM too. They were even smoking some of that funny stuff right in the club. AHHH the good old days. tim
