Investigating the cost of shipping a compact wheel loader. 13,000 lbs, 19' long by 81" wide. 1,250 miles. Have listed with Uship and on Yesterdays Tractors. Any other suggestions or ideas? Getting bids of around $2100. Fair price? I have never purchased anything like this without seeing it. Has me a little on the worried side.

2007 loader with 450 hours from dealer. Anyone back east know this Case dealer?

Bid seems reasonable. I used Uship a few years ago to ship a 2-14 plow from Illinois to CA (~2000 miles) for about $450 (it's a collectable).

Gee, if you're worried about the condition of that loader, I'd be careful before purchasing it sight unseen. My neighbor has an old Allis Chalmers 545 wheel loader and if he didn't have buddies who are willing to work cheaply on the engine and hydraulics he'd be in deep doo-doo. Repairs on big stuff like that is really expensive.

That seems plenty reasonable. We just arranged to have a 60' long by 14' wide boat brought up from a lake in Southern Kentucky to Southern Indiana, about 250 miles tops. It weighs about 50,000# and the bids are just a tad over $3000. That does include the over width permits and the additional cost of removing some of the railings and antennas for transport.

My local Case dealer used to be Suit and Wells, now it's a Folcomer store (Upper Marlboro). The crew in Upper Marlboro have always been great and have gone out of their way to help. I used to have a Case 580, the shuttle shift pooped out, their mechanic came out and found the problem, but didn't have the part. He showed me where it went and how then told me if I wanted to p/u the part and install, I'd be helping him out. When I went to get the part, he had it under his name and employee discount. Aberdeen is about 1.5 hours north.

Sounds like a lease return machine. I would either fly out and look at it (BWI), hire an independent mechanic or see if they offer an extended warranty package.

You are correct, it is a lease return machine. Thanks for the input on the dealer. I will ask about the extended warranty. The dealers states it is in excellent condition with no mechanical issues. I am getting a more pictures to better see the cosmetic condition.

I agree that you are getting reasonable shipping quotes. I shipped a 10,000+ pound truck 130 miles and it was $400. I used UShip.com and received about 8 bids. Good luck.

Very good rate on shipping. Lots of flatbed carriers getting $3 per loaded mile on items that size. Ken Sweet

I shipped a TN75 from Pennsylvania to here 3 years ago when gas was really expensive (spring of 07) and it was $2200

$2100 seems fair.

Remember, it's probably going to show up on a flatbed or dropdeck.
You need some way to get it off. he's expecting to have a ramp (like at tractor dealers) to back into.

And you'll get to drive it off, the truck driver isn't going to do it. (nothing like driving your tractor for the very first time off a flatbed)

Spoke with a couple of hot shotters over the weekend. They are charging $2.50/one way mileage.

I will have it unloaded at my Bobcat/Kubota dealer and use their docks. I have been dealing with them for years and purchased a Kubota CUT, BC skid steer and Toolcat from them.. They said could unload it during the day, night, weekend or whenever.
