Uship worked for me the one time I used it. You can get a better deal if you are flexible on your pickup/dropoff dates and times. There are shippers that will badger you telling you they know you wont get a better price when you turn down their offer. Just be polite and move on until you get the best deal. My uship was very smooth, but I could see how it could go wrong. But you are protected. You ask for bids, once you get one you like, you accept and schedule with shipper. You pay uship (escrow like) and they release money to shipper when you say you received it. Pretty easy. Uship gets like 50 buck for handling transaction (at least only $50 from me, might be 50 from shipper too).
Keep good track of your correspondence with the bidders, they will ask and reoffer many times.
