Tractor
MF GC2410
Wife and I are in planning stages to move to Brazil. We will sell everything, house land, personals except for the GC2410. The place we are moving to is in the country and we plan on growing Mango, Lime, Coconut, Guava, Lemon, Cashew and Papaya which is why I need a small tractor.

Any ideas on shipping companies and how to prepare a tractor for shipping?

Wow, that is quite an endeavor.

I recently completed a container-based import of a mini-X from China. What a learning experience
that was! I can't recommend any shipping cos, but you will need a "freight-forwarder" and a customs
broker/logistics company. A good shipper in the US should help you do all that, door-to-door. Since
you are going to be in the country, you will need a trucking co to bring your container to you, where
they give you a few hours to unload. That means you need some kind of ramp at your site.

This assumes a full container (FCL). LCL may also be available to where you are going.

Sell it and take your money to Brazil, then buy a tractor that can be serviced locally.

My suggestion would be for you to sell the GC2410 and purchase new in Brazil. Shipping cost, Custom and Port fees, plus delivery fees will be high. Brazil also has some stringent exhaust rules for Farm Equipment. Emission Standards: Brazil: Nonoad Diesel Engines. You will probably have to get certifications Brazil will accept that the GC2410 will comply with Brazil's exhaust emissions standards.

Expeditors is one that my company uses for international freight shipments. Expeditors | Home

We use another as well which escapes my mind momentarily.

Crane Worldwide Logistics is the other we use.

Ditto on the sell your current tractor. You might find that buying one [ or two ] will work out better for you. There might not be any local support for your MF, and most farming operations need one or two dependable tractors that you can get serviced locally. Years ago my uncle ran mostly Allis Chalmers tractors down by Howell Michigan. Not because he thought they were the best, but he could get parts/repair locally. When you farm, you need stuff running 24/7 certain times of the year. Being able to source parts via the internet helps these days, though.

I've dealt with shipping things to Brazil, and having my counterpart(work related) ship things to me. This is mostly computer related stuff.

The customs and duties are crazy. Especially for anything used. No way would I try to ship a used tractor down there. Not even a chance...

Sell it, and buy one there.

PS, I want to go to Morada Dos Canyons...

The problem is they cost sooo much in Brazil just like cars. I do know its better to buy a car there instead of trying to ship one. If I can ship it under the farm or construction equipment label I may be able to get a big break. the other thing is I cant find any subcompacts for sale with BH and loader. I do know there is a MF factory in Canoas Brazil but they are big, way to much for what I need.
Will check out what others have posted as well.
