So I ordered a 5740 package which has been waiting for the backhoe to ship. I assume that it is coming from Japan. Got an update on the Aug 22nd that it had shipped. My question is how long does it take to travel to the Midwest? I placed the order on the 1st of July when the new incentive came out and have been waiting patiently, but with it almost here I am getting overly anxious. Figure that it should be delivered in the next couple of weeks. I gotta go find something to do....

depends what type of shipping you negotiated.

By plane overnight to nearest airport in US, customs and land freight maybe 5 more days so should be about 1 week if rushed. Assuming guys on the other end get to it asap and trucking comany here gets to it asap and maybe a couple of weeks all total in everyone is making a rush. (1 month total if all rush)

By container ocean time currently running 25 days. add another week or two to clear US ports and customs. Then the wind up time in Japan maybe 2 weeks assuming they have enough orders to fill a container. All in all 2 -3 months if everything moving efficiently and guys get to the work asap. Expect though not everyone working on an asap basis and 4 - 6 months could be more realistic

Last I knew Kubota's backhoes were built in Gainesville, GA .....

holy cow....I wasn't expecting that. I assume Kubota is making constant shipments to the US. I guess I had better not get too excited yet then. Maybe I'll have it by spring then. <sigh>

I think most of the backhoes and loaders are made right here in the US of A, in Georgia I believe. And Boakley, what were you thinking - overnight air for a backhoe? you might as well buy an airplane and haul it yourself for what that would cost. :)

Cool video. That makes me think that it might only be a couple of weeks then. I didn't know that they were made in the US. So was the tractor also made in here?

I just watched the video for the Oakwood factory. Amazing that they can assemble a tractor so quickly. Hope they didn't forget anything.:)

This film is a bit old and Kubota has/is building another big addition to the Ga plant. This shows a BX23 being built which was replaced with a short run of BX24s and then for about the past 3 years a BX25. This video answers a lot of questions that have been discussed on TBN for several years.
Wish I had seen it earlier and wonder if there is a newer updated video available?

Gottcha... already have the plane already though..make that type of work all the time. all depends on how important / how much money a guy wants to spend. Just as an FYI...

renting a full charter 747-400 series Boeing will give you capacity of about 95,000 kilograms cargo and cost is about U$450,000 from Japan to major US airports.

part loads about $10/kilogram ($10/2.2 pounds)

I fly cargo this way regularly and depends on how important / how quick your cargo is for you. :)

Kubota would likely use containers which is MUCH more cost efficient but again all depends on how much of a rush you are in.

Here is a pic's of me shipping LIVE PIGS from Chicago to China.... when it just has to get their quickly and if you really need it asap give me a call. I gladly fly whatever you have where ever you want it to go.

Backhoes... would be glad to bring some back next trip for whomever wants.

Cheers
