I built this 3 bladed twin engine bucket mounted mower 25 years ago. It was belt driven to minimize damage to the drive train from blade impacts. It was open on the front with pusher bars to lay over small trees etc. I started with several old push mower bodies and started cutting and welding until I had a shape I wanted. I used heavy duty spindles off an old Grasshopper commercial mower. It was pretty heavy because I over built the frame. I had the two engines on it because that痴 the only way I had of getting the horsepower I needed from the engines I had. It had 2 arms that pivoted about halfway back in the bucket so it would float when it needed to rise and it could be raised with the bucket. It mounted with 4 bolts to my bucket. It sat on 4 shop built HD swivel wheels that kept it from scalping too much. It cut a 5 foot swath. If I were to build another one it would be lighter and have one big vertical shaft 25-30 hp motor. I would still make it about a 5 foot cut with 3 rotating discs similar to a disc mower. The discs would retain the kinetic energy required to power thru thicker woody material.
I used it for 2 years until the 12 HP Tecumseh quit. I was into other projects by then and now it just sits in a corner staring at me making me feel guilty.
The concept was to have a robust, simple, universal front end loader mount mower.
