Last time I looked into pv was about 15 yrs ago. At that time neither the technologies nor the financials looked very interesting to me. Now looking at Dave1949, currently favorable tax treatment, and some other info, looks like a different story. Might even make sense on California's somewhat photon-starved north coast. I need to do the analysis for this specific residence/location.

To check on dust blowing in I put tape on the grill. As a sort of control I hung a strip of tape from the ceiling in another location. After two days compared the two as well as a new strip just off the roll. See photo. No difference I can see even looking very closely. I will still put a filter on but wanted to do a quick check to get an idea of magnitude of the possible problem.
