Well, I was all set on the AGCO ST30x but came to my senses. Way to much overkill for what I need. The sub compacts, BX2230, GC2300 and JD2210 are all I need to get the job done but it feels small to me, I am 6'5" and I don't miss many meals! So now I am looking at the B7500, Kioti CK20 HST and the AGCO ST25. I liked the manual trans on the ST30x but I have tasted the honey of a hydro trans and it sure tasted good. I like all 3 of them, they all seem to be well made and I fit better on these somewhat larger tractors.

Prices seem to vary widely from dealer to dealer, for instance the Kioti CK20 HST with loader, 60"mmm, and box scraper locally, 25 miles away, for 16,650 to a low of 13,590 from a dealer 2 states away. The Kioti is a good looking and appears to be a well made tractor. The Kubota with a loader and 60"mmm locally for 15,500 and the AGCO ST25 w/ loader and 60"mmm from a local dealer for 15,800, this is a 2002 model, which I think is quite high. All with turf tires.

I may have a problem with the local Kioti dealer if I buy the Kioti from a distant dealer if I need warranty work done. $3000 in savings makes it very tempting to take a ride and pick it up.

From what I have read here the B7500 seems to be a solid tractor, any issues with the Kioti CK20 or the AGCO ST25?

You're local dealers need a reality check. The Kioti & AGCO should be substantially less than the Kubota.

Not that there is anything wrong with either one, but they are not a "big three" brand (Deere, New Holland & Kubota) and as such will suffer when it comes to resale value & national dealer support (less dealers).

I paid $15,500 for my TC18 with FEL, MMM & rear blade in New England which arguably has the highest tractor prices in the USA. Other's have bought the same tractor for up to $800 cheaper.

don't know much about the agco line. but the kubota and kioti are well known. a few on this forum love the kioti, and recommend it highly, the kubota of course has been around for a bit. which one do u like the best? will tel u tho be sure to pick one with hst!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

AGCO is the corporation that has gobbled up what used to be Allis Chalmers, Massey Ferguson, Hesston, White, Fendt and a bunch of others. Their line of compacts are built by Iseki of Japan same as the Massey compacts and the new line of Caterpillar compact tractors, the Challengers.

If you have a Mahindra dealer near by, take a look at the new Mitsubishi built hydrostat compact models. The 2015 is a 20HP model and is similar in size to the CK Kioti. They look very good, and Mitsubishi has been around a while.

When I picked my tractor, I did because it was the best one on the lot. Resale value has no meaning to me, as I don't plan on buying another. My Dad's first tractor was sitting in the wagon shed the day he died. I guess mine will be too.

Even if you are going to bury the tractor next to you when you pass on, doesn't mean you shouldn't play the resale value card when negotiating the best deal on a tractor purchase.

Although it had more HP than I was shopping for, I was very interested in an Agco ST25 until the dealer quoted me a number around the one you received. The catch was it didn't include a mower. I kept shopping and ended up with a Kubota B7500HST.......................chim

Good luck on whatever you purchase.. all the models you mentioned are winners.

But...never assume that a tractor is overkill if it is just a tad big. I started at 17 pto hp.. and am no over 30 pto hp... 5 tractors later.

work will expand to absorb available hp, towing capacity, and money available.. ( just ask the wifey )

As long as you are closely comparing prices be sure to closely compare dealers also. There are 6 tractor dealers here in central Oregon. I checked them all for price, support and their shops. They ranged out like this:

John Deere. These guys sold snowmobiles, 4 wheelers, garden tractors, and oh a few compact tractors. Their shop was set up to work on the 4 wheelers. They were the highest priced tractors for the horsepower I wanted and really did not want to deal with me.

Massey. Feed store, sold tractors on the side. Good guys interested in making a deal. Shop was small but dedicated to tractor work. A close second.

Long. Place is a farm dealership. Good shop set up. Dealer had 2 60 hp units on the lot and only wanted to talk about them. Had many many used tractors too…most were very used.

Tym. Trailer dealership, trying to be a tractor dealership. Good shop, high prices compared to what I could get from EFC. Mechanics seemed to lack finish. All the tractors on his lot had things apparently wrong, pieces missing, oil leaking from places it should not especially on a brand new tractor.

Kubota, Polaris 4 wheeler dealership. Good guys, good shop, seemed to know tractors, Kubota prices (read that as high). Did not have my tractor size in stock….

New Holland. An actual tractor dealership. True tractor guys in the shop, dealers willing to deal and work with me. Only one of the dealerships that let me rent a tractor for the weekend to try it out. And had the best price for what I wanted though the Massey and Tym would have probably come down. The thing that sold me was the dealership itself as well as the tractor.

It is said here often. I have to agree, the tractor will bring you in the door, and the dealer will send you out the door either with a tractor or looking somewhere else.
