3-Point Hitch Shortening 3pt drive shaft for snowblower?

On a DK35, has anyone needed to shorten the drive shaft for a 3pt snowblower. Had two dealers (who had the snowblowers) tell me I had to bring the tractor to them, and they measure the distance with the snowblower on, and cut the drive shaft it to fit, so that it didn't bind. (BTW: neither of these dealers where Kioti dealers) Two other dealers say I'll have no problems because there is plenty of play in the sliding yoke. (this is what I thought) They said that the only time they have to shorten shafts is for sub-cuts. Something the size of a DK35 will fit fine.

Anyone have any opinions on this. Have bought 3pt attachments before, just nothing that required PTO power.

It is done all the time. You don't need a dealer if you have a ruler, sawsall/hacksaw and some common sense.

Mount the implement and raise it, measure between the PTO shafts, then measure the length of your driveshaft. If the shaft is to long than you need to cut equal amount of each side of the driveshaft to shorten it.

Example: Say it's 4" to long...Add 2 inches to that for a margin of error, and cut 3" of each half of the driveshaft.

I've posted this lots of times, but if you go to one of the manuals at Bushhog.com, such as this tiller manual, they have illustrated instructions for measuring and cutting (if necessary) to the right length. This one is on page 7. A power saw is nice, but I've done it with just a manual hacksaw.
