Buying Advice Should a person bother looking to buy a Yanmar now?

Just about saved up enough for a Yanmar 2620D but now with the lawsuits pending I guess I am out of luck. Any thoughts or ideas as to when things will be resolved if ever?
Really liked Yanmar for the price but now not so sure. Thanks in advance.

$ea if u want one buy it. there still availuble and being sold. even if there successful under their best cse senario your dealer will have to stop selling yanmars and aftermarket parts i guess. yanmar itself will still sell parts if that is what ur worried about.

All the dealer sites I have looked for are down now, which I can understand, really never was many dealers up north here in Minnesota area.The 2620D was the size I was looking for to blow some snow and till a couple acres with.Guess I will keep looking, thanks for the reply

Being a newbie to this tractor stuff I must admit all the discussion about these "refurbished" or "gray market" Yanmars is a bit confusing. For the benefit of those shopping for new Yanmar equipment, from authorized Yanmar dealers, I'm going to say YES, its a good time to buy a Yanmar.

This question will more or less be on lots of folks mind from now on nobody at this point can give the perfect answer for each persons situation.

No matter what happens with Yanmar lawsuit the gray market units are here to stay unless they make us some real good offers to buy them back which I dont see happening in this lifetime or the next one for that matter.

There are ways around the whole trademark issue on aftermarket parts and accessory's Yanmar hasn't even thought about and couldn't do anything about if they did have an idea china has that down pat.

Early Mustang, VW Beetle, even DC-3 aircraft and Model A Ford are still supported by the aftermarket because there is still a market for the parts. I don't think owners of the Yanmars already here have anything to worry about.

But it appears that dealers who intend to continue importing may be facing resistance from Yanmar. Does anyone know what Fredricks' situation is?

One can only guess what their situation is. im guessing its biz as usuall, continuing buying and refurbing til forced out by court. im guessing we wont hear anything till its been seetled in court them maybe not as there will be appeals if not good. &m guessing there lawyered up and not going to talk on the issue or have been advised to to say anything or have any sense and wont say anything based on filed papers.

Fact speaking of aftermarket Yanmar parts. I can put my finger on several parts used on mine that are china parts you couldn't get from Yanmar. Like the headlight bezel, the dash, and the seat and the turn signals, maybe even the steering wheel and radiator and fan and overflow bottle. There may be more but thats what comes to mind. fwtw
