seems like most parts i get from hoye are either china or india made, others may be made in house but i dont think ive got any of those, i think those are things like spindles etc?
Buying Advice Should a person bother looking to buy a Yanmar now?

I remember now you mention Hoye my head gasket came from china too that worry's me a little but it works so far.
I guess to answer the OP question further- the point being even if somebody gets a spanking in this lawsuit there is parts around to repair these. Not OEM quality arguably but get them back in the field thats whats important. That and they cant take parts off anyone's shelves or tell them they cant sell them. We also have the used parts market that will be here also for us a long time its not huge but its there.
And the "in house" parts thats what I was referring to as far as china having trademark stuff down pat - change one dimension and she is a new design and not an infringement an improvement on an existing design.

I would guess if you can't get a Yanmar you should look at the Zen-noh's out there
