Should I sell my Kubota g1900?

I'm considering selling my diesel Kubota g1900s with a 60 inch mower deck. It has only 880 hrs on it. The only problem is that one of the drive shaft's u joints snapped. It's the one that connects to the engine. The other end with the little white fan is fine. The tractor is about 20 years old and I have heard that this is a common issue with these series. I think I could replace the whole assembly for $350-400 bucks. I know how to do it but that's an awful lot of money. I would only be able to buy a low end riding mower for what I'm selling it for. The engine runs like new and that's really the only thing wrong with it. I need to be able to mow my lawn but I'm wondering what everyone else thinks. Am I making a mistake? Should I keep it and buy the part?

If it was me, I would fix it regardless of selling or keeping.... unless you are willing to sell it very cheaply.
.. at least in my experience, equipment that needs work, does not bring a lot of money when selling.
And I'm sure that when fixed, it will be a much better mower than anything priced under $1500 new price

In that small of a town I don't think you have much of a chance of selling it as-is. Even thought it is a lot of money to you, a $350 to $400 repair is a small repair bill these days. Fix it and then consider selling it. You'll get a lot more lookers.
