I have a 7510 (new, 25 hours) that exits exhaust directly back at operator. Looking inside the engine comparment, where the muffler is located, the tail pipe goes down from the muffler about 12" and than forward slightly. The results is driving into and breathing in exhaust fumes. Is anyone else having the same experience with these smaller tractors?? I'm looking for a way to correct this. (Or) should Kobota be made aware of this problem and have them solve it? Any comments and solution will be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the same or similar design as my tractor, but I never had a problem with it. The L2800 is bigger maybe that get's me farther away from the exhaust.

Post a pic! My first guess would be to add an extension.

I had a B7500 that I never had a problem with, it was pointed down and fwd...made a mess of the loader, my L2800 is the same way.

My B7300 points down and forward - keeps the paint covered in a nice black soot on the loader. The larger Kubotas have an upright stack on the front - we have a M4800 with a loose muffler that seems to like to turn to point directly back at the operator. It can be a bit obnoxious, but I guess that the logic is that you're outside and I suppose the idea is that you'll have a cross wind or something...

But the design does make sense in that you don't want pipes running under the tractor where they can get crushed. That being the case, there aren't many other places to have them come out.

I also have a B7510hst and have a little over 50 hard hours on it. I didn't notice any problem with the exhaust. Are you getting the fumes in the operators seat or is it an environmental / health issue you're concerned with?

My B7500 & B3030 both had the down and foward deal, no worse fumes than any other tractor we have operated? Perhaps your engine is running too rich.

About all brands of tractors that I've seen that have the under hood exhaust are designed the same way. I get a good whiff of diesel fumes from my JD as well as the Kubota if the wind blows the right way.

I always smile and say "there's nothing like the smell of diesel in the morning!".;)

The was a post about a yr ago about how someone made a short exhaust extension to route the soot away from the FEL arm on his B7510 or B7610.
He posted pics and it seemed to work out well. HE could still remove the side cover with it on if'n I recall it right. Don't remember the moniker. Try a search for exhaust or exhaust extension in Kubota owning/operation and go back 1 to 2 yrs.

Good luck

Thanks for all the comments. The fumes are while in the operator seat or while putting an object in the loader by hand (I was loading some bricks)and it is a health concern. Is there any such thing as a flex extention? I could try to route it down or back if Kubota left enough clearance. For all that reads this post, pay more attention to it and see if we are all breathing in more than we should.
