<font color=green>Well, good idea. Except that this is as much for my wife as for me. And I realize that you're also stirring the pot...
<font color=black>Of course i was stiring the pot.. heck If I could have snuck in a 'what oil do you prefer thread, that would have really done it! As for hst over gear, My wife actually thinks the gear is easier. In rush situations, it is just easier for her ( and me ) to react with the ingrained LEFT FOOT TO THE CLUTCH, etc. But from what I understand, it is one of those once you like it ( hst ) you never go back, etc...Just a personal choice.
<font color=green>On a slightly more serious note - Does your NH have a Shibaura diesel? From a YM owner standpoint, how do you like it? I remember your Yanny is a 2 cyl. One of the good poiinnnts, to me, about the green machines is the Yanmar engine...
<font color=black>Yep, my 1920 has the 4cyl shibaru<sp> diesel. I love it. Starts fast too. I notice that the new NH line TC.. like a tc 33.. which I believe would be the equivalent of my 1920,,, doesn't look to well matched when viewing both next to each other. The tc 33 is only 3 cyl.. and less CI.. is lighter, and overall smaller... but has a cute sleek hood. I like that beefier 4 cyl engine in my 1920 and the higher CI.. even if it is sopposedly the same HP tractor.
I do like the range and gearing selections on the 1920 much better than on the yanmar or the 8N. On the yanmar, reverse is either creep or way to fast... on the N, your only option is way to fast in reverse... and I even have the late model 52 with the lower reverse gearing.. so i can only imagine the fear of the other N users with earlier model N's when they let the clutch out in reverse.
