Ask the Home Depot guys. Get a mid sized one. You want the weight But you don't need their big boy. But a little big is better than a little small. Think you will be surprised about how easy it will break up. Also wear a dust mask and eye protection. Tile can be sharp. Post some pictures. We love to see others work!

I usually take pictures with a digital camera and download to my laptop and use it when attaching pictures. The laptop is down, I took this with a tablet to see if I would be able to do it. Bear with me.

Borrowed this from a guy I work with. It's a Milwaukee model H-834. 3/4 inch, 3000 blows per minute. Wife won't let me try it yet since its Thanksgiving. Gotta wait till Friday. Got earplugs, dust mask and faceshield. Came up with some new ideas for the remodel. Can't wait till I get things opened to see what the plumbing will allow. I will post pictures tomorrow.

Well,I got the base out. Tried to post some pictures earlier, but they would not upload. Took it out in two pieces and loaded on a hand truck and eased it down the stairs. Not a bit of trouble.

Found that if I laid the hammer as flat as possible, I could peel off thin layers and then vacumn up the powder.this reduced the vibration to the floor. Dust was not a problem at all.

Got a scare once I released the drain from the last piece and found it came apart at one of the glue joints on the male end of a street L. Didn't drain the P-trap since it should of just hung there. I had to cut the hole in the floor bigger to get the whole assembly out without spilling the P-trap on the ceiling below.

Thanks to all for the info and suggestions. It made the job a breeze.

BTW that pipe joint was never glued and never leaked in 25 years.
