Looking at a TYM T574 HST and wondering if it would run a 6' shredder on the PTO and a Lane Shark off the front (probably through the rear hydros for flow reasons) at the same time. Or would this be too much of a draw on the hydraulic system? Im in the woods and it would be awful handy for mowing the trails and saving time that way

Renting or hiring a self propelled mulcher for a few days will be more effective and cost you less money.

Running a 6 ft shredder wouldn’t be an issue on a 55 hp tractor but at only 7.6 gpm on the remotes would be a problem running a lane shark
I would prefer a separate pump and oil tank

Not sure that is true. I mow a few miles of trails through the woods a few times/year and usually spend days going through with a pole saw and/or hedge trimmers in the 4 wheeler as well to keep the sides of the trails from creeping in 4 or 5x a year as well. If i rented a mulcher at 500-1000/day....doesnt take real long for a lane shark to pay for itself

I see that now. Ive seen lots of folks in TYM pages running lane sharks and LS actually suggests running off the 3rd function with a continuous flow switch

shouldn’t be a problem to run the lane shark and pto mower. You can run the LS mower off of the 3rd function but it does need a designated return to sump line.

If you have that much growth and work you should have a USDA forester come from A+M to mark
every trash tree to get rid of them.

Renting a 4-wheel drive aerial lift would be safer than using a lane shark.

Instead of investing in a Lane Shark and 3pt shredder, why not look at an offset, articulating (ditch & bank) flail? It's a single 3pt implement that will do both jobs with ease. It saves setup time and also allows you to use the FEL bucket or grapple for moving debris.

Sure, it's a larger investment but if you use it a few times per year, you'll thank yourself in the long run.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying one sooner. I spent years clearing trails, tree lines and road edges with hand tools and implements not suited for the job.

Just my 2 cents.

A secondary use for my articulating flail mower was to cut back along a roadway vertically. It didn't do as well as I had hoped, only getting maybe 6' high, pushing branches out of the mower path, and throwing debris back at the cab.
Angling down along my steam bank the mower is awesome, and gives an almost finish cut on overgrown grass / weeds.

If I shorten the top & right side links, (easy with the T&T kit) I can cut up to 8' off the ground with the 6' flail.
