My key doesn't shut off my tractor and I have to push in the shutoff solenoid to shut her down.

What are some checks to rule out the shutoff solenoid?

On the schematic it shows a timer the wiring goes through to get to the key switch. Where is that located?

Thanks

The MT160 shares same parts manual as the MT180 (which I have).
The injector pump has a lever on the side that comes wire locked.
It is my guess that the solenoid shut off was added to satisfy North American trends or perhaps regulations.

If you cut that wire and attach a pull cord (or choke cable) you can manually shut down your engine from the driver station with a simple pull.
The shut down is instant once pulled as this is a simple spring loaded shut off valve.
I opted for the pull cable rather than choke cable as most choke cables tend to rust over time.

On my Mitsu my pull simply dangles under the dash with a knob for easy grip and is simply an emergency back up as my solenoid shut off still operates just fine.
