Kioti ck 25
I just installed a new shutoff solenoid on my kioti ck25. When I make the connection I goes to shutoff position. When connected the tractor won't start him will start when disconnected. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks , Len

Stuck timer relay? IF you have wiring diagram, use volt meter/probe light and see where its getting its power from....Something is supplying 12 volt to it and it shouldn't be...

Your right, there is always power to the soinoid. Could it be a faulty ignition switch? I will check the relay today .Thanks a lot. Len

There's very likely a safety that is holding it energized. There is typically a relay that operates and pulls the shutoff solenoid in. I'm not familiar with Kioti but on JD tractors that is a fail safe relay. Check and see if you have a shutoff relay. A good wiring diagram or schematic would be a help and may be necessary to find your problem.

Could be any number of safety switches..... MAybe a seat switch, maybe a timer relay gone bad (welded contacts) ..... On my MF GC17xx the fuel cutoff solenoid is operated by a timer relay that operates for about 10 seconds to pull up the solenoid and shuts off fuel when key goes to off position.... About only way to find problem is to work back with volt meter or test probe to find where voltage is coming from that is keeping solenoid operated, having wiring diagram helps (check owners manual) ....

On my 2003 Century tractor, I removed the shutoff solenoid and installed a manual choke cable. I pull it out to start the tractor, and push it in to shut it off. They key is just for the starter and should probably be replaced with just a push button. But that's another topic.

After doing this, I feel like I have more power. Not just a little more power, it was very noticeable. I wonder if the original solenoid was limiting how much fuel I was getting?

Since doing this, I haven't had any issues with starting my tractor. Beforehand, it was always a struggle to get it to start.

Problem solved. I traced the wire back to the start relay where I found points stuck. I cleaned it up and now works as it should. Thanks to all for your input. Len
