A spool valve that has zero leakage is a rare bird, in my opinion. It's nearly impossible to fit two cylindrical surfaces so precisely with no seals that there is zero leakage. And the rate of leakage can vary some with temperature as the valve housing tends to expand more than the spool, for example.

I guess I am not sure what is to be solved here. Maybe I am missing something. I lower all my equipment when I shut down in case the kids climb on the tractors and one of them is under an attachment.
