:welcome: to the forum.
Overheating maybe?
What maintenance has been done recently? Age of fuel? Age of the 175?

Come on back, we should be able to find some help for you.

Seems to work on most machines, check the vent in the fuel cap. Deeres seem to have been hit with this problem for a while. If it works clean the vent once in a while during fillup.

The gas cap is a good starting point, but if that don't fix it I would check the pickup tube in the tank. I have had several get object floating in the tank and suck up against the tube and after it sets the object goes back to the bottom of the tank.

So I put new gas in it a new speak plug and cleaned the carb not sure how to clean the vent in the gas cap but it has a vent run up right beside the filler neck and that seems to be clean and working but still shuts down after 20 minutes of running even with the deck off and pto off

Ignition coil might be the next place I'd look.

Have you checked for spark immediately when it shuts down?

How long after it shuts down can it be started again?

What engine is in the 175?

Ok I checked the spark that is fine I also replaced the fuel lines now I can see the fuel delivery and it barely trickles out of the fuel pump is there anywhere I can buy a rebuild kit for it our where is the best place to but a new one

Fuel pump is a sealed piece of throwaway plastic. That's a common engine, anywhere that services riding mowers should have replacements in stock.

Is there a fuel filter that can be replaced or cleaned?

I would still check the pick up line in the tank, you have to remove the fender deck to get to it.

Ok pulled the fender off cleaned the dip tube cleaned the tank took apart the carb cleaned it adjusted all the linkage and idles back to original still won't run long I'm thinking it might be the igniter

I was having similar problems with my F525. At first I thought it was over-heating as it would quit after going through longer grass (after say 30 mins of use) but after reading up on this forum, I checked fuel flow replaced the fuel filter (as was aften "empty") and thought that may have cured it - but no, so I pulled the tank and found debris at the top of the dip tube/shut-off valve and was able to blow this out with compressed air. So far so good but still not sure I have fixed the problem. Have you made any further progress?

No I have not made any further progress but haven't has much free time to tinker with it

Forgot to add to my previous reply that fuel flow was restricted by the debris (it was even difficult to blow through the shut-off valve) prior to removal of the debris - I tested this with a small funnel and the length of fuel line that goes to the filter - when filled, hardly any fuel was able to get through the valve. After blowing out the dip tube / valve fuel would flow quite freely so am hoping this was the problem.
