SICKEL BAR SITUATION

WE HAVE A FIRST CHOICE 7 FOOT SICKEL BAR, THICK GRASS WILL BIND UP THE TEETH WHEN CUTTING,HAVE TO STOP CLEAN SICKEL BAR. PUT IN NEW BLADE, THAT WAS GETTING JAMMED WITH GRASS. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Is the bar sharp, are the ledger plates in good condition, and are the tangs holding the bar in place properly adjusted? Will slowing down the forward speed help?
