I have no experience using a sickle bar mower first off.

I have about 2000 ft of roadside ditch to cut back periodically during season. I will have to go below horizontal to cut it effectively.
It’s weeds and grass. Probably cut it about knee high down to ground when I do cut it though it’s waist deep now.

I have a Kubota L3301 and a Ford 2000 to run one but thought of getting a cub or something just for the sickle also.

Can you guys recommend brands or models to watch for used?
Or ones to stay away from?

I see a New holland 451, ford 501, and a Kuhn locally but someone said getting Kuhn parts is hard find anymore.

All advice welcomed.

With no experience using a 3 point mower can be tough. If you can find a mower for the Cub, I would go that way. The mower is off to the side between the front and rear axles and this makes it much easier to operate. The mower will follow the same way you move the steering wheel. Read up on how to adjust the mower correctly no matter which mower you get.

This looks like a good option but I have no need or experience with one.
