Sickle Mower

I have just got into the sickle mower business paid too much you tell me ? 200.00 for a looks like no. 9 John Deere without the drive pto shaft anyone have one or can I make one it going on 285 Massey Ferguson . I did get a box of new blades but the guards look like some of them will need replaced. I am looking for suggestions live here in southeast Missouri

You can probably go to your local farm supply/tractor dealer and buy a PTO shaft that is either just the right length or too long (then cut it)

Compare to mail order prices before buying locally. Sometimes there is a HUGE difference.

I picked up a 9W earlier this spring. It's a sweet mower. Seals and various parts still available through John Deere. Generic guards and sections available through the local farm supply store. Some frame and other big pieces on ebay. If I was closer, I'd give ya $200.00 for it.
