The left side lift arm clevis pin on the U shaped linkage that attaches the to the frame keeps falling out. Twice while mowing today, the clevis pin has fallen out. And last year it happened a couple of times. Any reason why this is happening? image.jpeg

Thanks

I had that happen to the pin holding one of the lower lift arms (a minor disaster!). The hypothesis for this was a stick hooking the pin out. That shouldn't happen in a hay field, though. For these parts that are (almost) never removed, I'd suggest a bolt or a cotter pin; my lift arms are bolted on, now (I'll have to look at the attachments for the stabilizer arms, since having one of them drop would not be good, either).

Had one fall out a couple weeks ago on the Quick Attachment (at the ball joint) while using the Box Blade. ???? Never had that happen before. Luckily I had a spare with me at the time. And luckily I found the pin that it that held it all together.

First of all do we assume the OP had a standard hair pin cotter pin in?

Bolts and cotter pins will do, so won't bailing wire, but if you want something you can quickly take off with one hand try some Rue-rings

Never had that happen. Have had something pull the cotter pin off the drawbar pins though. I'd try a pin that doesn't come off so easily. Go down to TSC and take a look at their pins, you'll probably find something.

Hate to think of the pain it must have been to get the thing back together with the mower on.

Thanks guys. I did replace one pin with a bolt and need to replace the others. I was really curious why the four or five times a pic fell out, that is was the left side.

If the pin in the picture is the one that keeps falling out, I would say that it is to long for the application and if it slides to the center of the tractor it puts the hairpin clip in no mans land to be snagged and pulled. The bolt with stop-nut will definitely cure your headaches.

I have had many times while brush hogging in the woods. I now use wire to hold in all of the pijs. Lesson learned....

Would anything bad happen if you pushed the hairpin all the way in as far as it would go and let it swing down?
