Simple add-on's for my L4240

Well I received an email from a fellow member asking to see the in-cab mirror I planted in the beast last night so I'll attach a picture of that along with a few hooks I mounted on the bucket.

I also removed the ugly rear round top cab lights and replaced them with ugly round LED lights.

The mirror was just a convex mirror I got at the local auto parts shack and I used a 12 inch piece of 1 inch aluminum angle to mount it. I used the existing bolts that was in the cab. I didn't want to modify the cab for a mirror.

I mounted it dead center because if I mounted it to the left or right it might have an effect on the defrost vents in the winter and I didn't want that happening.

The mirror gives a great view to the rear but I do see myself in it so I just start singing that old song "Oh lord it's hard to be humble"

Reminds me of the thread bout a year or so ago where everyone chimed in with his/her favorite minor addition. Seems that a tooth bar got the most votes but my favorite was a guy who mentioned a bungee cord across the hood to hold his gloves. I use TWO bungees and squish my gloves, a sandwich, sunglasses, hat, pin wrench, fuel tank stick (primitive but accurate) and have managed to get a thermos of coffee pretty far into the woods that way. Simple is beautiful.

Just installed another cool item. It's a cell phone mount made by Ram mounts. A magnet comes with the mound and sticks to your cell phone.

The mount itself has 3-M adhesive on the back so just clean up the area with rubbing alcohol and peal and stick. Works great.

I'll use my blue tooth with it but now that it's mounted I can see who's calling me at a glance like the bill collectors.

Cost of mount $20.
Usefulness: Priceless

I am a new member here. Just ordered up a new L3540HST and having trouble sleeping at night waiting for it to come in! I have been really intrigued with this site and find myself getting all sorts of ideas for how I can make my new machine more productive and user friendly.

Your work is certainly top notch and I am finding a lot of my ideas coming from your posts. Thanks for all the time you (and others) put into this site to help all us newbies.

I am thinking that the first mod I will make is adding chain hooks to the bucket. I like the simplicity of how you bolted yours on (versus welding) and since I don't own a welder (yet) thought this might be a good way of getting started with my mods.

So . . . quick question for you. Will I be able to drill through the bucket steel with my standard corded Dewalt drill or will it take something more powerful / specialized to drill the holes. Did you just use a simple bolt/nut approach or did you actually tap the holes in the bucket to accept the bolts? Can you post a picture of the underside (inside the bucket?)
