This is my simple rear light install. I basically bolted the SoundOff light to the slow-moving vehicle sign bracket, ran the wire through the fender with the turn signal cable, and then spliced it to the rear running light wires (the red light on the fender). Since this 500 lumen LED light only draws about 1 amp, it's no problem to power it through the existing light circuit, and it comes on and off with the headlight switch.

The SoundOff light cost $65 and is built like a tank.

Nice. I like it.

So impressed with all you hard working guys and your lights. Not enough hours in the day to get your work done so you have to work at night too? lol

With my light work load, I quit at dusk.

Nice install!! Personally i dont like the way guys typically mount lights to the ROPS, Using the factory mount makes it a lot cleaner.

I have an ongoing thread that i believe you posted in, discussing rear lighting for the BX. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/224139-idea-bx25-accessory-lighting.html

Ive been leaning towards either a single Soundoff 1400 lumen led or two of the Soundoff Mighty Night Lights.

How would you describe the light output of the 500? I see your pictures, but sometimes the camera doesnt do it justice. Would you say it provides adequate light out to about 10-15', like as if you were using a backhoe or snowblower?

The 500 lumen light is bright. Within the 45º pool of light it throws, I would not want it any brighter. It would be better to use two 500 lumen lamps than one 1000 lumen lamp because they would cover more area (90º). The brighter lights would be better for reaching out further, but I was interested in the immediate area around the tractor, perhaps 10 yards, and the 500 lumen easily lights that up.

I actually bought two of these 500 lumen units. I also got a 3' piece of aluminum angle and clamped it to the ROPS and tried various locations. A good set-up can be had with 4 lamps. 2 pointing forward and a bit off to the left and right, and 2 point rearward aimed to light a 90º pool. But, this would be a pretty substantial contraption up on the ROPS, and I couldn't see going that route.

In the final analysis, I just didn't want to back into something, and some light to adjust the rear implement.

YMMV.

I am just curious....everyone seems pretty set on LED's here but I just bought one of the Halogen lights that have the magnetic base and for my occassional need at pushing snow it is bright enough. The current draw spec on the light was well under the allowed draw on the aux power outlet (which I use), so am trying to figure out if I am going to have problems doing this? At $24 it seemed like such a bargain and all I was looking for was to get light out over the bucket.

should not be a problem. i have done the same.. I did buy some better lights and put magnets under so i can move it where ever, and remove it for summer so its not in the rain etc.:)
