We have a Kubota B3030 that we use around the property. It normally has a backhoe and loader on it. I have been setting it up with a snow blower for the winter which will include a soft cab from Cover My Tractor. Our business is van up-fitting supplies and we carry thermal/acoustic automotive grade insulation from 3M. It's frequently used to insulate vans and other vehicles and is great at reducing noise. OEMs like Honda use it in production.
I decided to install some on our Kubota to reduce engine noise. I used AU4002-5 which is 1" thick with scrim on both sides. I attached it with 3M 90 spray adhesive and finished the edges with cloth electrical tape. I did the same thing to an older Yanmar we have. In both cases I was pleased with the noise reduction.
Below are some photos of the installation. It took about 1 hour to remove and clean the covers and attach the Thinsulate(TM).
Engine top cover
Engine side cover
ROPS cap. Made with a patchwork of smaller pieces seamed together with the tape.
Overall photo of tractor before I put the rops cap back on.
All the best,
Hein
