I have a 1995 Simplicity Broadmoor (model # 1692416) with a 14hp kholer engine that I bought as a project to fix up. It was not running when I bought it. I am having trouble with starting the mower. I checked the starter solenoid and found that I had power at the small terminal where the key switch hooks in so I figured I had a bad solenoid. When I got the new solenoid it also did not work. After testing the new solenoid if found that I still had power at the small terminal where the key switch hooks in but I also had power at the other small terminal. As I understand it this terminal is a ground terminal. Is this due to a bad safety switch or is something wired incorrectly in this mower? I thought a bad safety switch would kill power to the terminal hooked into the key switch. Also I have been unable to locate a wiring diagram for this mower, it is not included in the owners manual. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Find where the other wire is going. If you have power on it means that it is not grounded properly.
