Simplicity Legacy 25 60 inch 2005 488 hours?

I have a chance to buy the above in nice condition for $3500. Is this a decent mower for 7 acres??? What should I look for??? It was kept indoors and mowed 4 acres since bought new in 06... The owner sold the place and moved to town... Should I jump on this one? Tom the mowerless

On the older models, the bolts can loosen (or snap if used hard) where the transmission meets the rear end. I'm not sure if the newer models have a similiar design, but it's the first item I would check.

I would say thats a good price,I paid $1400.00 and put another $1500.00 into the 1997 I bought and there was 1400 hrs on it.This was last year.I rebuilt the entire tractor so there were many parts to purchase.I would not do a project like that again, It took about a year.

Turned out that it was a 98 with 488 hrs and in need of a couple of days work and about $100.00 to put it right... I bought it and love it...
