Hydraulic lift problems I am having with my Simplicity Legacy XL.
A year ago this past spring I had finished tilling our garden and found that the tractor would not lift the tiller up. I disconnected the tiller and worked the lift and it seemed to work. I then had consulted with a friend from Simplicity. The first suggestion was to drain and change the hydraulic oil and filter which had not been done before. I did so and put on the mower deck and it seemed to work fine. So I thought, problem solved. In addition I also put on the front blower this past winter and it lifted just fine as well. This spring when I removed the front blower and put on the deck, the deck went up and down and seemed to lift just fine. However recently (a couple of weeks ago I noticed the deck was no longer lifting. When I operate the lift lever the lift hooks under the rear fenders seems to move up and down but when it gets to the point of the weight bearing of the deck they stop and will not lift any further.
Can anyone be of assistance possibly get me a name, number or e-mail address of someone at Simplicity that might know how I can trouble shoot this problem.
It seems that it could be one of two things; Part No. 1725080 Hydraulic Valve Assembly, or Part No. 1726442 Hydraulic Cylinder Assembly. Both parts cost a few hundred bucks so I just don稚 want to guess and start replacing parts without some intelligence (factory help) behind my choices in parts replacement. In addition I am not quite sure who I would take the tractor to for this type of service as I don稚 think all simplicity service centers would be as knowledgeable in the hydraulic repair area. I would also appreciate suggestions in this area as well. I live in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin
My tractor was purchase directly from simplicity (demo unit) in April of 2006 and the information is as follows;
Legacy XL 4WD 27-HP Diesel with 3pt Hitch and 540 PTO
SAP Nos. 2690289, s/n 2000262788, inv. 91105026
54 Mower Mfg. No. 1694397 s/n 00250
50 Tiller 540rpm Mfg. No. 1693448 s/n 00160
Any help in this matter would be most appreciated, "Thanks much".
