Is it me or does Briggs & Stratton seem to lack in the quality department?

Well, like just about any tractor/mower manufactured in that class, they are not as durable today as they were 20 years ago. To condemn Simplicity over a chute recall is a bit harsh. Simplicity products continue to be a cut above most everything in their class. More expensive than most also.
