I'm looking for a used 2nd mower/garden tractor. I came across a 2005 Cub Cadet 3206 with 325 hrs, and a 2001 Simplicity Landlord 23DLX with 1038hrs and comes with a snow blower. Both are priced $1999. I'm sure I can get a little off the price. I'm leaning on the Cub mainly because of the low hours. I had a Cub 2185 that I had for 24 years and just sold last year. I don't know anything about Simplicitys. I have been looking for a used JD, but came across these at the JD dealership.
Thanks for any info.

There is a reason the Simplicity that is older with more hours is the same price as a Cub Cadet.

I just bought a 2005 Deere Gx335 for $1800. Higher hours, but well maintained. Hydraulic deck lift, power steering, diff lock, 54" deck, bagger, wheel weights.

I would keep looking and get the Deere you truly want.

nothing wrong with a 3206. shaft drive transmission, shaft drive deck I believe, hydraulic lift. that simplicity is all belt. i would take the cub over the simplicity. they get a bad wrap for there lower end stuff, but the higher end cubs have been solid machines for a long time. i just sold a 1641 with all the attachments for 2300 with 500 hrs on it. I had a lot of people looking at it.

Thanks for the replies, I'm still thinking about the 3206, although the dealer has it listed as a 2005, from what I have read they were only made in 2001, 2002? The dealer is asking $1999, is it worth that? I would offer a few hundred dollars less to start.
Also what is the towing capacity? Ok to pull a 500lb lawn roller?

500 lbs on a roller should be fine. i used my 1641 to pull a harrow, a cart full of stuff, aerator with a bunch of weight on it, even used the plow and harrow to spread gravel in my driveway. i would offer like 1500 and see what they say. its way more tractor than you can get for 2 grand new. im also used to much higher prices for used stuff in Colorado.

I was able to get it for $1700 out the door as long as I still like it after test driving it tomorrow. I looked at it earlier this week, it is in very good shape and low hrs.
