Traded my JD X500 in for a Simplicity Prestige this May. Offloaded the mower and started it up and engaged the deck...and it quit. This happened 7 times and they took it back to the shop. Safety switch was installed/broken at the factory. New switch everything is great. Fantastic cut compared to the JD deck. Love the power steering and shock absorber ride. That lasted 10 hours until I moved the throttle to idle and the throttle quadrant came out of the dash. Over center clips must not have been clipped in I thought. Clipped it back in. Wife mowed the following week and same thing happened. Back to the shop...new throttle quadrant that doesn't fall out of the dash. That's a good thing. Wife complaining about not being able to set the parking brake without full leg extension, same thing for me but the power steering and the shock absorbers make for a great ride and the deck cuts so well that it's something we can live with. At 48 hours on the clock...the mower quits dead in its tracks. Oil, fuel, battery all good. Off to the shop to find out wires to the electronic fuel control had come loose? Getting tired of having the new machine in the shop while the grass grows. At 55 hours I'm blowing off the deck when I notice a spring laying on the deck and that the deck wobbles. The front of the mower deck has two welded pieces that the mower hangs from and the left hangar is snapped perfectly at the weld line.
Is this the new Simplicity or did I get the lemon this time around?
