Hello everyone,

A local dealer has a Simplicity Regent model riding mower with an 18hp B&S Vanguard engine and a 44" deck priced at $2299 on sale. I need to cut about 2 acres and maybe a bit more then that which will be somewhat overgrown a few times a year. Does this seem like a good mower for the price. Ideally Id like to get something larger then this, but I just really cant right now.

Also, will the 18hp Vanguard engine with the 44" deck be able to cut some overgrown areas a few times a year without much trouble? I know it will take extra time but Im just wondering if this model will be able to handle it.

Thanks,

Mike

That's a good machine at a decent price. Must be a left over from last year as the new Regents do not have the Commercial grade Vanguard engines. It should be able to handle the 2 acres of mowing no problem. Just will take longer than a tractor with a 60" deck.
