Since the 3-Point on my 1735M is broken I ordered a EA Wicked Grapple.

I was going to get the Everything Attachments grapple anyway . . so may as well get it now since my 3-Point is useless. How difficult is the 3rd function kit to install? They said it replaced the knob on the joystick among other things. So I'm thinking there will be considerable work involved. Of course the videos they have on the install are for a Kabota, not a MF. Any tips you guys can give me?
Oh and the hydraulic kit was in stock, but the grapple is 4-5 weeks out they said. He said they were in the process of making over 100 of the 55" grapples. So top tip, don't wait until the middle of June to order your grapple.

Further, the front axle may want to pivot, if not on level ground. Be cautions lifting FEL loads without counterbalance or you may roll the tractor.

One thing about that scenario is, it happens so quickly that you won't have time to react so keep your seat belt on, it may save your bacon.

Roger that. I've had all the tires filled with beet juice so I've got an extra 1,000 or so pounds out back to help.

110 gallons in total went into the 4 tires combined. I was sort of guesstimating how much went into the rears.

In spite of the tires being loaded, it would be very advisable to wait until you have the 3 point hitch functional before you pick up anything substantial with the grapple. Weight on the 3 point is especially effective because of the leverage factor, since it places the weight a distance behind the rear axle. The counterweighting is important for safety and for the longevity of the costly components in the front axle.
Some choose ballast boxes, often equipped with hangers for tools. I chose a receiver hitch with suitcase weight bracket on which I hang eight 42 lb. weights, extremely handy for towing my trailer to haul brush.
It's your choice to make, but be safe...an accident could end your life or negatively affect your quality of life.
