I haven't seen one working in real life- but I've heard nothing but good things about them. It essentially reproduces your TV onto your laptop (and now, I think, will be even working with video enabled cell phones). Ideally you would have a DVR (i.e. Tivo) with recorded shows you can watch, but I think you could watch "live" tv as well. You will need broadband access on your laptop where you're on the road, which is most hotels now. Supposedly very easy to use, plug into your televison and network at home, some software on the laptop- and off you go. It's the kind of gadget my wife would have loved if she still traveled for work.
