Wheel rakes are typically the lowest cost option for hay raking, and if youæ±*e a small operation or just looking for lower overhead they are an excellent choice. The down side to this type of rake concept is they are a dirty rake due to the ground drive, and they then to rope the windrow which can hinder drying. KUHN doesn稚 offer a side delivery model but if your interested in a 天 type carted rake, you cant do any better than a KUHN SpeedRake?

If youæ±*e looking to put up premium dry hay for a few animals, there is no better option than a rotary-rake. A KUHN GA 3200 is a small economical priced rotary, with a spring assisted mechanical lift system. When properly adjusted the tines do not contact the soil so they are very clean, and due to the raking action they build a very uniform fluffy windrow, which is ideal for drying. They also can also handle a greater volume of hay than a typical carted, or side delivery rake.

A rotary tedder is also a good addition to your machinery shed to speed drying, and help you put up top-quality feed. The down side to this of course being additional cost associated with a second unit. For a small producer or they hobby farm a combination tedder/rake like the KUHN-Hay Bob is often the most economical choice to get the best of both worlds while keeping costs low.
