OK, I just read that very long older thread about bb and manufactures and my head is ready to explode from all that info.

My next purchase will be a bb and I will be getting a med to heavy duty unit with all the features talked about. Captured pins, etc.
Probably a befco or land pride 25 series.

My work will be in clay loam and some areas where there are some pretty large outcropings of sandstone just under the surface.

My question is do I go 60" or 72"? The landpride has a 66" which would just cover my wheel tracks.

Is my unit strong enough for the 66"? I have the rear tires loaded and the heavy FEL so weight should be adequate.

It all depends on how deep you go with each pass. I have been pulling a borrowed 60" with my little B7100HST (only about 1270 lbs, not counting the FEL, or the box). I just bought a 66" BB that I got a good deal on (also with captured pins). I'm sure I can pull it, as it is only 10% wider than the 60" -- I just might not be able to cut quite as deep with each pass.

I pull a 60" behind ny 24hp B2400, so I think the 72" would be fine behind yours.

I had a L3830 and it pulled the woods hb 72 with no problems up a 900 ft drive that was pretty steep with a full load.

Check with your local dealers for brands sold. You mentioned 2 brands, but I would also look at Woods, Rhino or bush Hog, similar quality, similar price. Next try to get the dealer to allow you to bring one back in exchange for another if the size proves to be wrong. You will do well with the 66, and probably the 72, but if the ground is hard, that 72 could cause you some wheel spin. you're going to spend some serious money on a quality unit, make sure your dealer will provide you the satisfaction you're money pays for.
