size of box blade and harrow for jd4520

Looking to get a box balde and disc harrow for my 4520...I have no idea on what sizes to get . And what brand do you guys recommend. Thx

I had a JD 4500 for many years. it had less HP than yours does, but it was the same basic machine. I had a medium duty Woods box blade that weighed 600 lbs or a bit more. It would handle that with no problem regardless of the soil conditions. I have no doubt it would have handled a 7' model just as well. The HP won't be an issue for you, but traction might at times. I had the 460 FEL (900 + lbs) and dual 110 lb wheel weights on each side. Even then, it could claw for traction in 2 wheel drive f the box was getting full in loose soil.
I never pulled a disk with it, but I have seen them run them up to 8' wide.

I use a 7' box blade with my 4520 and would suggest Rim Guard or full weights for better traction. My box blade weighs 1260 lbs and seems to be a good match for the tractor. I recommend you have topntilt hitch to get the best results. A good pull type disk about 8' with 22" blades such as the 1508 would be the right size imo.
