Kubota L3901
I'd like to get some pallet forks for my Kubota L3901. I don't have a specific purpose for them, I would just like to have them for things that pop up. We have a small hobby size tree farm and are getting a couple of cows. I'm no expert so I'm looking for recommendations - Length of forks for all around use? Weight of forks and capacity considerations? What about a higher see-through frame?

Thanks!

I bought the 42" version of the 3000lb forks for my MX5800 and think they are about perfect. Even though your lift capacity is a bit less, breakout force is what I would be concerned with. 48" forks may be a bit easier to see the tips but I haven't really had any major issues using mine.

I bought the Land Pride PFL2042 forks with my L2501, same loader as yours. I can't imagine a tractor without them, honestly.

I bought some 2000 rated forks for my 2650 which exceeds the capacity of the loader. I would get a set that just exceeds your loader capacity. Overkill with HD forks just means you are limiting yourself on what you can lift since the frame/forks will weigh more. I have 42" forks and have never missed having 48". In fact, 48" would making turning a problem in tight areas.

I have the same on the same tractor. My only regret is not getting the smaller forks, the PFL1242. Sure they're rated for less, but the loader is only good for around 1000 at the pins anyways, and the PFL1242 is 110lbs lighter than the PFL2042, effectively gaining you capacity.

Ive got 42 inch forks rated to 2000lbs on my 3901, only had for a few weeks but find them a good size so far.

I like to have some wiggle room, but your point is duly noted. I am considering shimming the relief valve to get a little higher pressure, thereby increasing the lift a bit. Not sure it will overcome the entire 110 lbs, but it should help a bit. And I have no concern about bending lighter forks.

I got forks from Titan for my old L3200. Got another pair from em for the L4060 when the old ones ran off with the old machine.

2k lbs rated forks will match an economy L well. Get the lightest ones you can that are a bit over your lift capacity (1,200lbs if I remember).

The longer the forks the better. More reach, options, leverage & visibility. But also more weight. Think my current ones are 48". I wouldnt go shorter than 42", probably even stick with 48, even on the smaller machine.

The ones with a hole in the tip are great. I use that for a ball to move all my trailers. My 3pt trailer mover isnt used anymore. Handy for a clevis for rigging stuff, or just something to keep chain from sliding off the fork.
