Am contemplating a 3 point hook up for my skid steer with a method of operating a pto at 540 rpm. What size displacement motor would I need for that?

My other alternative is building a direct drive hydro driven auger for post holes. What is the displacement needed for that.

What kind of motor cubic inch wise do I need for a direct drive auger?

Using 18 GPM, a 28 cu in motor will turn up to 149.

Torque is fairly constant through the rpm range.

Do you have remotes?

If you have about 2500 psi, your torque will be about 11,146 in bs.

Yes I have remote connectors. The gpm is at 3000 psi if I remember correctly but I don't intend to sit there and run it wide open to auger post holes. If 28 in2 will work I can find one somewhere.

A formula from school a while ago, that I still remember may be helpful.

HP (input)=GPMxPSI / 1714

Let me know if that helps.
