Anybody out there tell me if there is any physical size difference in the operator compartment between the 422 and the 425? Also would it be possible and or feasible to relocate the seat higher and maybe farther back? Last but certainly not least how do you convince the cfo that she actually could learn to operate a pt ,I've tried the part about how she learned to drive a car, a forklift, a standard tractor , a dually, so far zip sucess, her feelings are that a deck in front is not natural unless it's a zero turn . Running out of ideas here need some fresh ones, surely someone else has had this hurdle to cross?

I'm pretty sure the operator's compartment is identical on the 422 and 425. A quick call to Power Trac could verify this.

The seat would probably be easy to re-locate. It is mounted on a plate that is attached to two metal arms, so it can tip forward for maintenance. The configuration of the arms would be easy to change if someone was good with basic cut and weld of steel stock.

As far as convincing the CFO... if she can drive all that other stuff you listed, the PT would be a piece of cake! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe run in reverse so everything is just where it's supposed to be. Then you could also add a zero turn mower to your equipment shed.

the machine is slightly larger than the 422, it felt like the seat was a little higher on the 425

With a resume like that, she certainly will be able to handle the PT...But...Are you sure you want her to /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If You really want her to...start her off on the tractor only with no tools around...then progress up the task levels...fwd/bwd only, then steering, etc, etc. then the joystick(still with no tools),etc.etc...just "nibble" away at the barriers... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If this works, you'll have lots more time for "us" and she'll get the seat time. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
