Ok guys,

Picked this unit up today. Tom at supertrak was nice enough to let me demo it...for a quick review i am comparring it to my tak tl 150 with fecon. Absolutly no comparison. I am very empressed to say the least. It has a fae head on it with the knives not carbides, and it absolutly ate several large pine roots today... I ran it hard, stalled the head several times and it never ran hot, ac was cold etc etc. i am not sold yet, im gonna run it two more days.... There are several things i do not like but will hold my judgement till i have more seat time.....it does chew though.... I took lots of pics but gotta figure out how to post first lol...

I just turned 1000 hours on mine. It mows twice or more what the stock Takeuchi did and the finished product is very good.

Might be looking to sell mine and get something bigger though. Thinking steel tracks and 175hp...or more.

The only negative I see is it's still a skid steer. I found that it gathered debris in the belly. A weekly cab tilt and cleaning is a must. My tracks need replacing and I have thrown them quite a few times. New tracks should help that and rear triple idler wheels are going to get installed too.

Ok all,

I spent a few more hours in the machine today. Overall i am very impressed. I own a 421 hydro ax with fecon head and while this machine wont outwork it, it does come very close. For me i need a ctl in my fleet, and i cannot have steel tracks due to the areas i work, so all that aside i think it fits my use. The nicest thing was the ride difference, wow i can walk!!!! Lol after a day in the tak i am beat... Power and recovery of the head was great. I chewed stuff i probably should not have and it did fine... I did 5 or 6 cabbages the same size as in that fecon video without issue. Ok so let me list my likes and dislikes...

Dislikes

..1 throttle placement on machine, located on door jam. Every time i crawled in the machine my fat *** hit it and it went full throttle

2. When at idle, track response is poor, not as good as the tak. And when arms were fully extended felt a little jerky

3. Door access/ Safety factor sucks... Like the tak much better

4. Visibility all but forward stinks

5. FAE head chews like a champ, but don't like hose entry to head, blocks view, and angle of head just feel different
than my fecon, may just be me.

Likes..

1. Power , power, and more power

2. Filter locations, ease of maintenance

3. Cab is really ok for me and I'm a big guy

4. Heads up display, easy to read

5. Rear wench..... Thats a biggie for me

All in all i have to say it is a tight machine, we will see on purchase. I have looked at the asv package, but i just don't think it will compare. I have entertained the fecon 148, and the gyro trak, but to be honest i will use the ctl with the tree shear , bucket , grapple rake, davco etc etc. and i think it would be easier with the sk, plus the weight issue. Anyway sorry to be so long winded, thats my review.. I will keep ya posted on my decision. To the gentleman that has one, if you are serious about selling, pm more info or a phone number.
