Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Skid Steer Express. The 60" grapple weighs 600 pounds and seems to be well constructed. 1/2" thick sides, 5/8" teeth, 2-3000psi cylinders. I am thinking about ordering one. Thanks, Bruce

88deere,

I have personal experience with this 60" grapple. I bought one early this summer and used it on my NH 3040 tractor for cleaning up a acre of my property. Since the photo was taken, I had the top row of teeth gusseted with additional steel and the bottom teeth I had doubled in thickness for additional support. The unit is plenty beefy as it comes and is made out of mild steel. When I had the top and bottom teeth reinforced, I used tool steel, but for most people its fine as it is. I absolutely love the grapple and am happy that I bought a dedicated grapple verses adding one to my bucket. The company was amazingly fast in shipping. I'm also happy I bought the unit with the shorter lower teeth. It digs into the earth like a dozer blade with teeth. The top and bottom rows of teeth mesh nicely and you are able to pick up 1" diameter limbs with it. Hope this helps you. I'd buy the same one all over again. I really liked the Bradco grapple for 3,000 bucks, but since I wasn't using it every single day I didn't feel the extra money made sense. I got into this one for $1325 with shipping. I feel it was a good decision buying this unit and I'd do it all over again.

Hi brewdog,

That is good news. I bought the other style that they sell. It has 2 separate clamps on top. I had to have 2 notches cut in the lower tabs so it would fit on my John Deere 110. The tabs were sticking out too far not allowing me to latch the grapple. I have used the grapple for a few hours and so far I am pleased with it. $1275 shipping included makes it a bargain I think. Thanks for your input. Bruce

88deere,

Congrats! Nice looking unit. It looks robust ! I was torn on which design to choose. It will be nice to see a photo and a field report from you after put some more hours on it. This company is a sleeper, they make great products for compact tractors. I have one of their
clamp on trailer hitches its heavy duty and works great.

I just recieved this grapple, tried out works good, having an issue with opening. under 1500 rpm, works fine, if over 1500 rpm, when I try to open it sticks, might open 1-5" and locks, have to close and reopen. closes fine at higher rpm, just wont open. any ideas? TC45da, using rear remote for opening and closing.
