Skid Steer Hydraulic Specs

:)
From the Metaris calculator:

Formula: HP = PSI * GPM / 1714
PSI is gauge pressure in pounds per square inch; GPM is oil flow in gallons per minutes.

Rules-Of-Thumb:
Horsepower for driving a pump: For every 1 HP of drive, the equivalent of 1 GPM @ 1500 PSI can be produced.

Hence the 1500/1714. About 85% efficiency as you have stated JJ.:)

Sorry, but I have to correct some of my findings and as they were told to me. The surplus Hydraulics calculator, uses 85 % efficiency factor. The formula with the 1714 is at 100 % efficiency. Here is a formula to prove that. It will let you use any efficiency number..

Using 26 GPM and 3000 psi, requires 45 HP at no loss in efficiency So in essence, you would really need 53.5 to produce the above GPM and pressure., with an 85 % efficiency. Then you have to use another efficiency factor from pump to motor.
