In the process of installing a regular automotive rear view mirror in the cab of my Bobcat S185. Looking to install something on the lift arms so that I might better see the rear wheels when I'm backing up the ramps to load the machine onto my dump trailer.
I like the look of these, I-C-Mor: rear view mirrors for skid steers but they seem very pricey to me. Has anyone found reasonably priced alternative?

I agree those are VERY pricey! I'm shopping for mirrors now too. I've found a pair of power Chevy mirrors on craigslist for $20, but I would need to fab mounts. Will probably just get some from an auto parts or trailer supply store (or Amazon of course).

Sorta thinking the same thing. Maybe even JB Weld something to the lift arm. Just wonder if it could take the shock from shaking the bucket to remove stuck on dirt, etc.

Have you been reading about Click Bonds here on TBN? That would be the way to go over JB Weld.

Admittedly, I have JB Weld in the garage, and do not have any Click Bonds... ;)

Dredging up this old thread from last August. I decided today to bite the bullet and get a pair of the mirrors mentioned in the first post of the link. The price has come down $10 but they're still a little pricey. However, that money spent will save me money in the long run by not hitting anything behind me.
I did wind up installing a set of cheapo plastic mirrors from Auto Zone on the loader arms. They worked OK but really could be bigger. One of the mirrors came off though and is deep within a snowbank. I figure to find it about early May the way this winter is going.
Has anyone done business with IC Mor? I went to purchase online early this morning and pay via PayPal. PayPal says "There's a problem with the merchant's PayPal account. Please try again later." Thought I'd give them a call later in the morning and possibly pay with credit card, but was just curious if anyone has had any experience with them or knows anything.

Have you considered a camera and monitor?

Not really. I think the cam would get covered when running a 73 inch snowblower. Unless there was a good way to mount it inside the cab by the rear window. But even then I wonder how well it would see through the glass, especially in certain light conditions.
Mirrors really do work well when backing up and onto the dump trailer. I can keep a good eye on each rear wheel. Still no word from I C Mor. Starting to wonder if they're still in business.

I just bought a pair of the golf cart mirrors mentioned in another thread on here. About $25 a pair. They look like mounts can be easily fab'd for just about anywhere. I'm going to mount to the FEL mounting sub-frame arms.

I emailed the company today after using their website's contact form yesterday. Still no reply.

We don't blow snow with ours, but we put a camera and monitor on ours this year. I was skeptical at first but I have to say I love it. Great in barns and tight spaces. It was cheaper than the mirror option there. It's worthless if the sun is behind you with glare though. I suspect a higher end camera would help.
