I have a few rock ridges that run through my horse paddock, and I am thinking of knocking them down when I renovate the paddock next month. I got a quote of $450 to rent a bobcat with a rock hammer, delivery Saturday, pickup Monday AM.
The rock is a hard limestone, and the ridges I would be attacking would be 2 feet at the widest with a total length of maybe 30 feet (spread through the padock). Plan would be to excavate around the ridges with my tractor, and then beat on them with the rock hammer, and then back fill.
Has anyone rented or used one of these? How hard are they to operate? For those experienced, does this seem like a feasible project?
Thanks
